It was a bit easier to pick my top 10 smartphones of 2012 and I ended up with four of them being Windows Phone devices. Which is your current favorite?

Quite simply, touch screen technology is the innovation we now expect to see in some shape or form from every new smartphone that launches.
Swapping a button-bashing existence for a softer sensing interface we can press, swipe, pinch and zoom, means we can now do a little bit more than simply stare into that pint-sized screen of ours.

APPLE iPHONE 5
The phone that changed the world is back again with an incredibly thinner and lighter design, while adding a larger 4-inch screen, Apple has increased the screen size without compromising the build quality or one hand usability. Apple takes the iPhone even further with the iPhone 5. Overall, the iPhone 5 is the best iPhone made to date and still the best smartphone on the market. Its incredible ecosystem, frequent software updates, and amazing hardware have yet to be matched by any competitor.

Every one went bonkers when it was announced in mid 2012. Even with its complains of its new connector. Its looks, new four-inch screen, new and faster A6 processor which runs twice as fast as the previous generation, higher display resolution and its astronomical price tag make Iphone 5 a sweet heart for all smart phone lovers.

Samsung Galaxy S3
The Galaxy S3 was unquestionably Samsung’s big launch for 2012, and has been our recommended Android smartphone since we reviewed it back in June. The Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE is the updated version, with a new wireless chip to support EE’s 4G network, putting it on par with the 4G-enabled iPhone 5.
Released in mid 2012, Samsung Galaxy S।।। shook the market and took things to the next level for Samsung smart phones offering. Its new features like 4.8 inch screen, updated 4.1 android jelly bean operating system, blue-tooth 4.0, NFC and direct call feature it remains as one of best smart phones of the market to this day.

Nokia Lumia 920
Lumia 920 launched last year is featured with new pure view camera technology, pure motion display, 4.5 inch screen, Wireless charging, Nokia city lens, Nokia music which enables streaming music for free, operated by windows 8 operating system. Undisputedly the coolest launched phone by nokia. Also brought back windows operating system.

The Lumia 920 is one of the best Nokia devices in recent years — the design is gorgeous, the display is top-notch and the camera is exceptional. It offers some innovative features that you won’t find elsewhere else. But the big question will be if you’re willing to take the plunge on Windows 8, it’s Microsoft’s bet for a turnaround, but if you’d like to see how it pans out first, there are safer options in Android and the iPhone.

Powered by the latest Android OS v4.2 Jelly Bean, the nexes 4 from google shook the smart phone world thanks to its 4.7″ WXGA IPS display, coated with Gorilla Glass 2, Flagship specs at a bargain but the Google Nexes 4 best feeature is the Price. The fact that you can buy this phone for 300 dollars unlocked. Anything else with the same features will set you back double the same amount.

The first Nexus One was a true geek device. Sold only through Google directly (apart from a brief flirtation with Vodafone), it never achieved massive sales. But it gave the world the true raw power of Android without the bloatware of other variants. As of January 2010, the ball was well and truly rolling.

HTC One X+
Successor to mega successful HTC One. The HTC One X+ is powered by 1.7GHz Quad Core Processor, 8-megapixel camera and a fast f/2.0 aperture lens, covered with 2.5 Gorilla glass to protect it from scratches, preloaded with Beats Audio and its Sense 4+ user interface layered over Jelly Bean. So all-in-all HTC’s biggest offering of the year.

It’s clear from the outset what HTC is trying to do with the One X: shake off the slight doom and gloom surrounding the brand’s fall in profits, and bring out a slick, powerful and, more importantly, useable handset that has now fallen to the palatable price of around £30 per month on contract.

iPad mini
Received by great fan fare and shrunken down iPad 2 with its sales. Supported the hottest features of 2012 and became one of the top contenders of the 7″ inch tablet market. The device is also incredibly light, weighing in at 308g and 312g. The new model is also impressively thin at just 7.2mm. The features of iPad make it one of the best 7″ inch tablets.

After much speculation, Apple has finally unveiled the long-rumored iPad Mini, and lets just say it is tiny.
Interestingly, the iPad mini is powered by the same Dual-core A5 chip as the iPad 2, and utilizes a new FaceTime HD camera that takes 1.2 megapixel photos, 720p HD video and offers both face detection and backside

Google Nexus 7
The tablet market had belonged to Apple and its iPad but then google then came with Nexus 7 that hit all the technical sweet spots. Powered by Android OS, v4.1 Jelly Bean, 7″ inches screen, Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9. Most importantly an entry price of just 199 dollars.

Undoubtedly tired of the struggle against the iPad, Google announced its own branded 7-inch tablet: the Google Nexus 7 by Asus, complete with stellar specs and a rock-bottom price.
We’ve now been given a new and upgraded 32GB option to join the 16GB offering, with the price not raised above £199, which is hugely impressive for a quad core, Tegra 3-endowed tablet.
