Despite the unfortunate cancellation of Google’s Playground event in New York  they have, nonetheless, announced the newest version of Android,

Android 4.2 will, like Android 4.1, keep the code name Jelly Bean. But just because the name stays the same, the amount of features does not.

One of the new features is Multi-user support, which will make it easy for multiple people sharing the same device. Each user will have their own settings for background, widgets, apps, e-mails and games.
The switch between users does not interfere with running apps, meaning that they will be ready to continue where you left off.

Another new feature added, is photo sphere. An advanced panorama function for the camera similar to that, which is used for Google Street View. With this new feature, Google encourages Android users to share their “spheres” to Google’s map service.

also on the feature list, they have added support for wireless transfer of video, so that, with the right peripherals, you can watch HD-video from your phone on your TV.

The first devices sold with Android 4.2 will be Google’s new nexus devices.
